Thats pretty neat but i can't imagine the amount of photos you'll need, nevermind the time it takes to put them together!
I've done this hooking up my Canon DSLR to Macbook Pro and used Canon provided software to take frames every x seconds. Compiling images to video is easy with Quicktime Pro.
